http://gladystarpoodles.com/newsevents Great Poodles Sat, 28 Jan 2012 05:42:26 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.7.1 en hourly 1 http://gladystarpoodles.com/newsevents/2009/03/30/poodles-dont-like-deer/ http://gladystarpoodles.com/newsevents/2009/03/30/poodles-dont-like-deer/#comments Mon, 30 Mar 2009 06:08:50 +0000 http://gladystarpoodles.com/newsevents/?p=11 The Poodles were growling and barking while looking out the window towards the back prairie.  A herd of ten white-tailed deer was grazing on my newly planted prairie grass and forbs.  After watching them for a short time,  I went out onto the deck yelling and waving my arms overhead to chase them away.  They didn’t run off like I expected although they did stop eating.   They watched me for quite a few seconds and finally left after I threatened to get the 12 ga out.   The prairie needs to get a little more established before I’ll let the deer eat it up.   Its a good thing we have those alert Poodles to keep watch on things.
