The Poodles were growling and barking while looking out the window towards the back prairie. A herd of ten white-tailed deer was grazing on my newly planted prairie grass and forbs. After watching them for a short time, I went out onto the deck yelling and waving my arms overhead to chase them away. They didn’t run off like I expected although they did stop eating. They watched me for quite a few seconds and finally left after I threatened to get the 12 ga out. The prairie needs to get a little more established before I’ll let the deer eat it up. Its a good thing we have those alert Poodles to keep watch on things.
